Nantong Xinshiyuan Biotechnology was founded by several doctoral graduates from both China and abroad. Its founder, Kris Tseng, was born in Taiwan, China, and went to the United States for his undergraduate studies. He subsequently earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D., and served as CEO of a Hong Kong‑listed company on the Main Board. To gain a deeper understanding of the Chinese market, he enrolled in Fudan University’s EMBA program in 2007 and obtained an MBA in 2010. In 2021, Dr. Zeng established Novelty Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd, focusing on three key concepts—“pharmaceuticals,” “skin,” and “permeation”—to continuously explore non‑invasive, painless, simple, and effective methods for delivering drugs into the body, while developing two major product lines: light medical aesthetics and clinical healthcare. Starting in 2022, the company began leveraging cutting‑edge “soluble microcrystal technology” to launch the Shudiya microcrystal product series.

As the pioneer of soluble microneedle technology, Xinshiyuan has successfully launched its fourth-generation “sharp‑arc” microneedle platform, achieving truly painless transdermal drug delivery. The company boasts proprietary mass‑production processes and equipment, leveraging MEMS‑based solidification molding to be the first to develop an ultra‑large 200 cm² pure sodium hyaluronate microchip—its single‑step forming area far surpasses that of competing products from Japan and South Korea (7–10 cm²). Production costs have been reduced to less than half of those associated with conventional manufacturing methods. Following rigorous technical due diligence by leading international manufacturers, Xinshiyuan ranks globally at the top in three key performance metrics: needle sharpness, needle mechanical strength, and single‑step forming area.

Xinshiyuan currently operates a 100,000‑class cosmetics manufacturing facility and has completed construction of a 100,000‑class GMP‑compliant medical device production plant; another GMP‑certified facility is under development. The company holds 22 patents, has established CRO partnerships with leading universities such as China Pharmaceutical University and Fudan University, and has successfully implemented over 20 application‑specific projects. Moving forward, the company will continue to serve top-tier platforms through its Taiwan‑based OEM model, maintain technological leadership through ongoing R&D and process innovation, and expand into the medical sector via collaborations on new dosage forms approved by the CFDA, providing global clients with end‑to‑end soluble microneedle solutions—from R&D to manufacturing.
